The Women Who Carry Resistance is a photographic project that documents the presence, strength, and cultural legacy of Palestinian women within pro-Palestine demonstrations in Germany.
Through portraits and documentary photography, the project explores how women carry and transmit collective memory, identity, and heritage across generations and borders. Traditional embroidery, symbols of homeland, intergenerational participation, and acts of communal gathering become visual expressions of resilience and belonging.
The photographs highlight the role of women not only as participants in political movements but also as custodians of culture. In the public spaces of German cities, Palestinian heritage is made visible through dress, language, music, and shared remembrance, transforming demonstrations into spaces where cultural identity is preserved and reaffirmed.
Rather than focusing solely on protest, The Women Who Carry Resistance examines the relationship between memory and resistance. It asks how traditions survive displacement, how communities maintain connections to their histories, and how women continue to shape and sustain these narratives.
The project is an exploration of dignity, continuity, and the enduring power of cultural heritage. It honors the women whose presence, stories, and traditions keep collective memory alive and whose everyday acts of preservation become forms of resistance.
I am collecting stories from Palestinian women living in Germany about memory, identity, culture, and resistance across generations.

النساء اللواتي يحملن المقاومة
"النساء اللواتي يحملن المقاومة" هو مشروع فوتوغرافي يوثّق حضور النساء الفلسطينيات وقوتهن وإرثهن الثقافي في المظاهرات الداعمة لفلسطين في ألمانيا.
من خلال الصور الشخصية والتصوير الوثائقي، يستكشف المشروع كيف تحمل النساء الذاكرة الجماعية والهوية والتراث، وكيف ينقلنها عبر الأجيال والحدود. ويصبح التطريز الفلسطيني التقليدي، ورموز الوطن، ومشاركة الأجيال المختلفة، وأشكال التجمع المجتمعي، تعبيرات بصرية عن الصمود والانتماء.
تسلّط الصور الضوء على دور النساء ليس فقط كمشاركات في الحركات السياسية، بل أيضاً كحافظات للثقافة والذاكرة. ففي الفضاءات العامة للمدن الألمانية، يظهر التراث الفلسطيني من خلال اللباس واللغة والموسيقى والذاكرة المشتركة، لتتحول المظاهرات إلى مساحات يُصان فيها الانتماء الثقافي ويُعاد تأكيده.
وبدلاً من التركيز على الاحتجاج وحده، يبحث مشروع "النساء اللواتي يحملن المقاومة" في العلاقة بين الذاكرة والمقاومة. ويتساءل كيف تبقى التقاليد حيّة رغم التهجير، وكيف تحافظ المجتمعات على صلتها بتاريخها، وكيف تواصل النساء تشكيل هذه السرديات والحفاظ عليها.
يمثل هذا المشروع مساحة للتأمل في الكرامة والاستمرارية والقوة الدائمة للتراث الثقافي. وهو تكريم للنساء اللواتي تُبقي قصصهن وحضورهن وتقاليدهن الذاكرة الجماعية حيّة، وتتحول من خلالهن أفعال الحفظ اليومية إلى أشكال من المقاومة.
أقوم حالياً بجمع قصص نساء فلسطينيات يعشن في ألمانيا حول الذاكرة والهوية والثقافة والمقاومة عبر الأجيال.
